magnificent thunderstorm

In the wee hours of the morning, we were awoken by the most magnificent thunderstorm I have ever heard. The thunder crashed and boomed with such force, intensity, and duration that I twice peeked through the windowblinds to check if the neighboring building was on fire. (It wasn't.)

Remarkably, Juma slept peacefully through it all.
